New Clients
Welcome to Sequoia Animal Hospital. We are glad you are considering our Tulare veterinary hospital for your dog or cat’s care.
Whether your pet is visiting for a wellness exam, vaccines, a health concern, surgery consultation, dental care, or an orthopedic evaluation, our team will do our best to make the visit clear, helpful, and comfortable for both you and your pet.
Contact Sequoia Animal Hospital with questions or to schedule a visit.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
At your first appointment, our veterinary team will ask about your pet’s health history, current medications, diet, lifestyle, behavior, and any concerns you have noticed at home. A physical exam helps us understand your pet’s current health and decide what care, testing, treatment, or follow-up may be recommended.
Our goal is to explain your pet’s needs clearly and help you understand your options. Depending on the reason for the visit, we may discuss wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention, digital X-rays, laboratory testing, dental care, or other services.
Helpful Records to Bring or Send Ahead
If your pet has been seen by another veterinary hospital, prior records can help us provide more informed care. When possible, please bring or arrange for transfer of:
- Recent examination notes
- Vaccination history
- Laboratory results
- X-rays, ultrasound reports, or other diagnostic records
- Medication and supplement lists
- Previous surgery, dental, emergency, or referral records
- Any discharge instructions or treatment plans from another hospital
For surgical, dental, orthopedic, or second-opinion visits, records are especially helpful. They allow our team to understand what has already been done and what next steps may be useful.
Scheduling and Client Portal
Please call or contact Sequoia Animal Hospital to schedule an appointment or ask what type of visit your pet may need. Our team can help you determine whether your pet should be seen for routine care, a sick visit, a surgical consultation, or another type of appointment.
Established clients may also use the client portal to access online tools connected with their pet’s care.
Payment, Insurance, and Estimates
We understand that cost is an important part of planning veterinary care. For many visits, our team can discuss the recommended next step, explain available options when appropriate, and provide information about estimates before treatment is performed.
If you use pet insurance or are considering it, visit our Insurance page for more information. Please contact the hospital directly with specific questions about payment, deposits, estimates, or policies for a scheduled procedure.
If Your Pet Needs Urgent Care
If your pet is having trouble breathing, has collapsed, is bleeding heavily, is in severe pain, has experienced major trauma, or may have a life-threatening emergency, contact the nearest appropriate veterinary emergency facility. Some concerns can be scheduled with our hospital, but urgent or life-threatening problems should not wait for a routine appointment.
For non-emergency questions, our team can help you decide whether an appointment at Sequoia Animal Hospital is appropriate and what information to bring.
