Dr. Sunamar Deol, DVM
Dr. Sunamar Deol is the Managing DVM and leads the medical team at Sequoia Animal Hospital, where he is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to pets and the families who love them. Born in New York and raised in India from the age of 10, Dr. Deol’s passion for veterinary medicine began early in life. Becoming a veterinarian was not just a career choice for him — it was a childhood dream and the only path he ever truly envisioned for himself. He earned his veterinary degree from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, one of India’s premier veterinary schools. In 2022, he moved to California, completed the rigorous licensing process in the United States, and began practicing as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Deol has a strong interest in small animal medicine and surgery, with a special passion for soft tissue surgery. He is also continuing to expand his knowledge and training in orthopedic procedures, with the goal of offering advanced surgical care to his patients. He currently lives in Fresno with his parents and his beloved pets — Agam, his Pomeranian; Mithi, his cat; and Romeo, his sun conure. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Deol enjoys spending quality time with family, friends, and animals. Dr. Deol believes veterinary care is about more than treating illness — it is about building trust, supporting families, and improving the lives of pets through kindness, communication, and modern medicine.
